Meet Our Team
Julie Ann McKevitt, Founder & Visual Arts Director
Julie Ann McKevitt is a visual artist in Duluth, GA. She is known for her colorful, detailed paintings as well as being the founder of the Georgia-based arts non-profit Paint Love.
Julie has been painting for over 20 years. She has had the honor of painting a large-scale mural on the Atlanta BeltLine and has shared her love of art with young people and their families throughout the Southeast.
After witnessing a great need for artistic outlets for youth, Julie, along with her husband Aaron and a strong community of support, began Paint Love in 2014. Paint Love brings extraordinary arts programming to youth facing poverty and trauma.
By 2019, Julie stepped away from the day to day of Paint Love and moved to Duluth. Now, six years later, she is excited to start something new: Art Hall. Julie continues to champion the work of Paint Love and as any true artist, she has some steady side projects including: painting in her home studio, serving on the Duluth Public Arts Commission, and using her Dance minor leading group fitness classes (you may also spot her doing some theatre choreography as well).
Vicky Ryden, Theatre Director
Vicky Ryden comes to Art Hall after 23 years of educational theatre and retiring twice! Her lifelong love of working with kids began in earnest when she was in the 6th grade, coaching cheerleaders. Mrs. Ryden has been on the field, on the stage, and in the classroom in one form or another since then, whether teaching kids in creative ways in Sunday school, kids’ church, or as Middle School Drama Director for both Providence and Perimeter Schools. She loves to emphasize Process over Product, and is grateful for the wise people who helped instill that in her.
A graduate in theatre and music from Western Kentucky University, Mrs. Ryden is deliriously happy to share this project with her brilliant daughter and assistant Lindsay Ryden. She is twice blessed to have the talents and input of her dashing husband Paul Ryden, and doesn’t know what she would do without his contributions in editing, sound, and sanity!
She knows Whose show it really is, and is grateful to God for every good thing. Thanks to Julie Ann McKevitt for producing and choreographing Annie JR. It’s a joy to work with you.
Enjoy the Product, everyone!
