Math Club “Mission: Multiplication” is a fun set of resources to help students learn their multiplication tables.

While you could use these resources in a million different ways, here is one suggestion:

  1. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK:
Assign your math “cadet” a multiplication table to memorize.

  2. DURING THE WEEK:
Send your cadet a top secret letter with a coded message to find badges, prizes, and more.

  3. AT THE END OF THE WEEK:
Plan a “Math Club” hour to test your cadet on their times table and play multiplication games.

Prize ideas:
1. The prize could be a math club badge that they earned the week before, a piece of candy, a note of encouragement, or anything that would be fun for your cadet to find at the end.
2. You could also create your own “Multiplication Money” instead of prize, that they could earn each week and spend at the end of the whole program.
Alternative coded message ideas:
1. You can make one message lead to more hidden messages before the final prize
2. If you don’t want to lead to a prize, you could make the coded message a joke or riddle they have to solve or a question they have to answer and turn back in.

Math Club Ideas:
1. Math Club meetings are great for playing multiplication games together, learning fun memorization tricks, and using flashcards.
1. If they can pass the test with 100% accuracy in under one minute, they can earn a badge (or other prize of your choosing).
2. If your cadet passes their test, you can also assign the next week’s multiplication table OR if they aren’t ready to move forward, you can reassign the previous multiplication table.
